Cold Water Elementary School Reviews

*I don't feel that my child is bringing home material equal to his grade. There are things I'm teaching at home because his class hasn't even begun to learn them. Like telling time, or adding large numbers not to mention multiplication, and he's in second grade. The environment is great, but I'm considering transferring schools. If Cold Water's Great Schools grade goes down one more time it's a certainty. When he started in Kindergarten their score was a 7, it is now a 5. I'm very disappointed, and I hope things turn around quickly.

I am very excited about one teacher in particular, Mrs.Mckee. I thinkn she is absolutely the best. She has the best patience with the 1st graders that I have seen. Understanding that they are very busy all the time and love to talk, she has unbelievable control in her class at all times. My daughter has learned and grown a great deal in her class. My daughter also is beginning to love math and i really is is because of the way it is taught with fun and passion. Thanks Mrs. McKee for everything!

My daughter has needs with language development and through the district's program at Coldwater and the great staff at the school, she has thrived! She loves everything about school and it thrills me that she is so excited about learning. She is difficult to deal with at times, but the staff do a great job with her and work with us as parents to do the best thing for her. She is very involved in the regular classroom for art, music and P.E. and has really grown in these areas. I really feel like part of my daughter's team, along with the teachers, the assistants and the administrative staff. They are knowledgeable and give us good ideas and tools that we can carry over at home. I can't imagine her ever going anywhere else!

Cold Water is a great school for children who need special areas help. The Special Ed department is top notch! I have 2 children attending and have had little to complain about. The few issues that have arrived they have taken fast action to correct any misunderstanding and problems. They have strict talking rules, which I think could be more lax, but over all we have a great set of educators and parents who all work closely together to have wonderful school events.

My son attends the Kindergarten at this school, and I have been very impressed with the quality fo this school. We do not live in a rich district by any means and some of the schools in the district have had some problems, but this school has managed to do a pretty decent job. OVercrowding is definately a problem-- but considering this, the teachers have done an excellent job, keep everyone safe and met at least the average standards for education. In comparison to other public schools in St. Louis, this school is doing very very well, and I owuld rate it very highly. The teachers are dedicated, the principal seems to support the teachers (even if the district doesn't) and they do a bang up job.
